Calling all women throughout Glasgow. if you can get a friend or a group of other females together and start a walking or running club. This way you can train together, have fun, chat and motivate each other to complete the distance. Register for the Womens 10K in Glasgow on the 8th of May. Not only will you be raising money for charity, but you will also become fitter and healthier. Try it today and see what difference it makes to you!!!!

During the recent bad weather, when many of us chose to exercise indoors, I had the opportunity to provide useful tips to work the upper arms or as most females refer to as, "bingo wings". On the 7th of Decemeber I was asked to go into Radio BBC Scotland to chat about how to tone, "bingo wings". I had the pleasure of chatting to Susan Calman on the Fred McCaulay Show about how to use useful things in the house, such as a tin of beans or bottles of water. By using light weights and high repetitions it is possible to tone and shape upper arms without having to brave the Severe Scottish weather, especially during all the snow and ice during December. Christmas is just around the corner and for some the thought of putting on that party dress and lots of food and drink fills us with dread. Especially if you are trying to lose weight, before the festive season is upon us!!! Don't panic, it's never too late to start getting in shape before the 1st of December. Remember even in a short space of time, regular exercise and healthy eating will make you feel fitter, happier and healthier. Start today.... at least 3 times a week regular exercise, cut down on portion sizes, increase your water intake and cut out unhealthy snacks and alcohol before Decemeber 1st. Try it and see!!!!

Yesterday I had the great privilege in providing a Zumba class for the staff of IKEA, during their lunch break. What a fantastic company, warm/ friendly staff and a bright, modern training facility. The staff enjoyed a 30 minute, fun-filled Latin inspired dance/ fitness workout. They said, “ it made them feel fitter, healthier and happier to return to work that afternoon”. This made me think, how many other companies would greatly benefit from providing regular exercise classes such as Zumba, Fitness Pilates or Personal Training sessions to their staff, before,  during and after work? It would appear that a happier, healthier work-force, can result in increased productivity and performance at work!
